Degrees and Certifications:
A graduate of St. Mel School and Louisville High School, I attended Loyola Marymount University for my Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Elementary Education and Graduate work in Catholic School Administration.
I began my teaching career back here at my “second home,” St. Mel School. I spent seven years on the faculty at St. Mel, teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade and serving as the Student Council Moderator, Athletic Director, and Volleyball/Basketball Coach.
In 2001, I moved over to our neighboring high school, Louisville, and served as a Science teacher and the Assistant Principal for Academics. I developed a Teacher Mentoring and Evaluation Program and was Chair of the Curriculum Council, overseeing the school’s academic and instructional program.
I returned to St. Mel in 2007 to serve as Principal. I am currently serving on the Elementary School Leadership Council for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the Department of Catholic Schools as the Chair for Deanery 5.
I love sports. I have played volleyball all my life and played for Loyola Marymount University. My favorite teams are the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Cowboys. My husband Pete and I love watching college football bowl games and March Madness.
Favorite past time: Working out in the garden!
Favorite author: Michael Connelly.
Favorite vacation: Hawaii and driving up the coast to Santa Barbara, Solvang, and Paso Robles.
Favorite food: anything cheese!
I am thrilled to be a part of the St. Mel Community and am truly grateful for the many gifts I have received from this community.
