"Little Church" Sunday Morning Preschool-Kindergarten
The Little Church program offers children ages 3 through 5 the opportunity to learn about God in a developmentally appropriate way during the 9:00 a.m. Mass. Their faith experience is presented through stories, music, prayer, and art within the structure of a published Catholic curriculum, while parents and family members attend Mass.
Grades 1st through 8th Formation Sessions
These sessions are offered to assist parents in fulfilling their responsibility as the primary educators of faith formation for their children who do not attend Catholic schools. These Sunday sessions in grades 1st through 8th are available from late September through May, dependent on volunteer catechists.
Sacrament of Reconciliation and First Communion Preparation
The Sacrament of Reconciliation and First Communion requires a two year commitment from the family to prepare the child for these momentous steps in their faith journey. We offer two unique and age-appropriate sessions for elementary and junior high youth. Each session begins with the 9 a.m. Sunday Mass and concludes at 11:30 a.m., September through May each year. For children entering their 2nd year of this preparation, there is an additional fee to the annual cost.
EDGE – Junior High Youth Ministry
Edge is a Catholic middle school youth ministry program. It provides a safe fun place for youth to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about faith, and, most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way. This program is open to ALL junior high youth – Friends from beyond our St. Mel community are welcomed!Liturgy of the Word for Children - Sunday during 9 a.m. MassThis worship experience is for children in grades 1st through 3rd who are "dismissed" from the main church to go upstairs in the Parish Center.
