     M o c k  T r i a l  2019

Practices: Tuesdays and Fridays after school.  Tuesdays:  3:15 - 4:30 pm.  Fridays 12:45 - 2:45 pm

Important Preparation Information:  All competitors are expected to be familiar with the Mock Trial Simplified Rules of Evidence.  If they are accepted onto the team, they will be tested on those rules and on various rules of the competition in order to remain on the team.  We will discuss them in class, however, the competitors must be fluent with the rules, which can be found here:  https://www.crf-usa.org/images/stories/mt_state/2017/roe_updated.pdf

Also, the competitors should watch the webcasts discussing the Rules of Evidence at:  https://www.crf-usa.org/mock-trial-program/mock-trial-webcasts

Timing of Case Materials and Competition: The case materials typically are released the first or second week of September--this year the Case Brief is scheduled to be released in early September, and the Full Packet of materials is set to be released in mid-September. Refer to the www.crf-usa.org website for details. The first rounds of competition tend to be the first half of November. Advancing teams continue to compete through November. Typically, the finals are right after Thanksgiving. We do not have specific dates until the competition administrators announce them. We do not know whether the dates will overlap with any other activities. However, every member of the team has a specific role and is critical to the team. Thus, if a student has an overlap, the student must be willing to commit to the trial team competition first.
